On November 1, 2024, after a week-long trial in the courtroom of Jackson County Circuit Judge Richard N. LaFlamme, a jury delivered a $650,000 verdict for our clients, Todd and Patty Boyd. Inosencio Fisk attorneys Bruce Inosencio, Kristina Fisk, Ryan O’Dowd, and Jennifer Simko, alongside co-counsel Randy Musbach, represented the Boyds in this significant case against a nationwide trucking company, PFG Transco, Inc.
The case stemmed from a serious crash caused by a PFG Transco driver who ran a red light at the intersection of M-60 and Reynolds Road, colliding with Todd Boyd’s pickup truck at approximately 50 mph. Todd suffered a traumatic brain injury — specifically, a concussion — a diagnosis that brain injury specialists and the CDC recognize as a serious, potentially life-altering injury.
Despite the well-documented and ongoing symptoms Mr. Boyd continues to face, PFG Transco and their attorneys denied he sustained a brain injury in the crash—refusing to acknowledge the existence and severity of his concussion until their closing argument at the very end of trial.
This case was hard-fought, with two of the country’s largest truck accident defense law firms, Wilson Elser and Gordon Rees, defending the case. We are incredibly proud of this outcome and grateful to Todd and Patty Boyd for trusting us with their case.
Brain injuries are serious and deserve the utmost attention and care. Even a so-called “mild” concussion can have serious lifelong impacts.
